Akaal Takhat Statement on Kashmir

A significant statement from Akaal Takhat calling out the psychology of hinduvta that has destroyed the conscience of 'Bharat', asking Sikhs to stand in solidarity with Kashmir reminding us of our heritage in resisting oppression.

The indian media have misrepresented the statement, in the portion that talks about 1984, what is referred to clearly as “genocide under the patronage of the Delhi regime of the day”, has been presented as “riots”. The Gurmukhi word used is ਨਸਲਕੁਸ਼ੀ which means genocide. This shows the embedded agenda against any form of Sikh expression that challenges indian state propaganda.

Press Note

Regarding those that have used derogatory language to make disrespectful comments towards the daughters of Kashmir, that have insulted all of womanhood, they should be dealt with in a strict manner.

On today’s date of 9th August 2019, Singh Sahib Harpreet Singh, [de facto*] Jathedar Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib Ji, presenting this press note, has said, the creator has given all humans equality in the right to exist and live, to discriminate [against] any human, woman, [within] the caste system, indigenous group, and force them into psychological distress is a crime that is not worthy of forgiveness.

In the delicate conditions that have been created in Kashmir after the elimination of Article 370, on social media, a distinctive mob along with elected political leaders, and even those in the robes of religiosity, [in speaking of] Kashmiri daughters, all [daughter-like] brides, [regarding] their dignity, self-respect, and chastity, [and] making comments and proclamations that are an affront to all womanhood, are great crimes and not worthy of forgiveness.

This mob of perverted/unstable individuals that have placed photos of the daughters of Kashmir onto social media and are making [disgusting] comments have lowered the head of Bharat in front of the world. These characters through their proclamations have revealed their mentality, at the point where instead of [understanding] that femininity is accepted as being divine, having aligned womanhood to mere objects of flesh, at that point they have buried the [many] great and sacred forms of womanhood. On account of these [sacred] forms all of creation is furthered, is prospering, and balance is kept.

At the cost of the daughters of Kashmir, thus relating to all womanhood, this mentality revealing itself should not be taken lightly, because, as a result of this mob’s [larger] strategic plot, very concerning, deep-rooted issues, are coming to the surface. This same corrupted mentality group, in November 1984 during the genocide of unarmed Sikhs, under the patronage of the Delhi regime of that day, did exactly what is being publicly proclaimed today with Sikh women.

The daughters of Kashmir are limbs of our [Sikh] society. The majesty and high-held respect of the daughters of Kashmir, protecting and securing this is our Dharam (the righteousness of the Sikh way). We will never back away from ensuring we keep our Dharam. The Sikh will never allow such low-life characters to raise even an eye towards the women of Kashmir, this is our history.

[*] Please note Singh Sahib Bhai Harpreet Singh Ji is the de facto Jathedar of Sri Akaal Takaht Sahib, the de jure Jathedar remains Nazarband (imprisoned) Singh Sahib Bhai Jagtar Singh Ji Hawara, elected during the 2015 Sarbat Khalsa that occurred after the collapse of confidence in Sikh leadership following the Ram-Rahim scandal. Ram Rahim, a convicted rapist and cult leader was “forgiven” for his crimes due the vote bank politics resulting from the political influence of his mass of followers. The Central Government of New Delhi has for decades sought to influence and impact Sikh institutional effectiveness in order to co-opt the capacity and legitimacy of the Sikh people in organising and agitating for their sovereignty. The Akaal Takaht remains the seat of Sikh power and organising. By electing Bhai Jagtar Singh Ji Hawara the Sikh nation outright rejected the imposition of the Centre in Sikh polity.

The Khalsa is sovereign in and of itself, just as the beauty of creation is self-evident within creation.

ਅਾਨ ਨ ਮਾਨੈ ਅਾਨ ਕੀ ਇਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਬਿਨ ਪਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ।

[The Khalsa] pays no heed to worldly honour, reputation or rank, accepting the rule of no other than Sache Patshah.
